Marnie Brodersen - Graffiti Artist

Marnie Brodersen

Marnie Brodersen is a bizarre woman – plain and simple. Not only is she a little off, but strange things happen to hear a lawt. After spending three years and a gazillion dollars (Thanks, Daddy!) on a graduate degree in Psychology, she realized that listening to people’s problems all day wasn’t exactly her forte. But telling the stories of all the unusual occurrences in her life was. So she made a switch into writing, and worked her way up the pride-swallowing ladder of entertainment. She was an assistant, a writer coordinator, a personal assistant (for only three months, but the stories and scars from this one will last a lifetime), and, finally, a Copywriter for Americanidol.com. She only made it in the industry about five years when she and her husband decided they’d had enough of the fake ta tas (Well, Hubby didn’t quite mind this), bad traffic, and having to pay way too much for a frakking cup of coffee. So they settled down in the beautiful north county of San Diego, where they live with their son, Finnegan, and a very, very round voluptuous pug named Olive.

In her spare time, Marnie likes to watch way too much television, eat a load of cheese despite her high cholesterol, drink copious amounts of wine, and look at old photos of her younger self while eating a gallon of ice cream and crying very, very hard. In an endless pursuit of fighting the calories from such endeavors, she spends a lot of time on the treadmill, much like a dog chasing its tail.

When not spreading the word via her graffiti, she can be found spouting off about television and American Idol’s season seven winner David Cook on Examiner.com. She is also a celebrity news junkie, and has hopes of one day landing a gig in which she is allowed (and actually paid) to write ruthlessly mean stories about their rich and ridiculous ways. Hey, we can’t all be Pulitzer Prize Winners.

Profile Details

Screen Name:

Marnie Brodersen

Country:

United States

With whom or what do you wage your biggest battle?:

My alter ego. Her name is Angel Sparklebottom, and she would really like to ditch the mundane ways of ordinary life and find the answers on a stripper pole.

What has been your biggest victory to date?:

Giving birth to my son, Finn, and running a marathon on a sprained ankle (could just mean I'm insane)

What is your perfect night in/out?:

Any night that doesn’t end in me cleaning up someone’s poop, human or canine.

What piece of advice would you give to your 20-year-old self?:

Pursue your dreams (No, not those dreams)!

What piece of advice did you receive in your 20s that you regret not following?:

Avoid the tanning bed. I’ve become a fruit hybrid of an orange and a raisin.

Short Bio:

I am a 36-year-old mother who is from Chicago but living in sunny San Diego, CA. I spent years in entertainment and, although I'm still looking for a job with a creative spin to it, I don't exactly miss the LA scene. While I look for something full time, I enjoy spending time with my 14-month-old son, Finnegan, and my husband, Shawn, enjoying this beautiful area in which I live! One of my favorite things to do (when I have free time, which is isn't very often) is write about the absurdity of celebrity news. If you enjoy it, too, please feel free to check out my site on PNN.com: marnie232.pnn.com/7198-the-front-page
